VanishkaNew Years Eve will be another highlight of 2014 with our stable providing a double in consecutive races on the Shoalhaven City Turf Club's race card held on the Archer Racecourse at Nowra. Four horses from the yard were floated to Nowra and all runners performed very well ... especially VANISHKA and TRACKTORQUE.

In race two we saw VANISHKA, who had been well supported in the betting $9.00 into $6.00, take home the winner's cheque, being back on firmer ground was certainly more to her liking. From her outside barrier the three year old filly by Written Tycoon showed good early speed to be on the pace at the 800 metre mark. Her jockey, Kevin May had his mount travelling well within herself and under a good hold sharing the lead with the Warwick Farm based first starter, Shamfrancisco ($1.80F) trained by David Vandyke.

Once straightening for home VANISHKA was given a bit more rein and shortly afterwards extended her lead and was going for home. Despite laying in slightly and Kevin having to change the whip to his right hand the filly held her margin comfortably winning by 3/4 length with a further 1 1/4 lengths to the third horse Miss Danska. The race was run at a good clip stopping the clock at 56.86 and covering the last 600 metres in 35.94.

We'd like to congratulate our long time clients, the Kowalczuk family on the victory, it was rewarding to train another winner for them and we sincerely appreciate their support and look forward more winners in the future.

The combination of Scott and Kevin are proving to be a successful one with winners becoming more frequent.
