It's a milestone that will remain in the minds of many, none more so than our astute hands-on trainer Scott and the invaluable Lucy, right hand 'man', wife and mother to their two children Jack and Zoey.

Without doubt this hardworking, dedicated couple deserve the accolades on the achievement of training 100 winners.

It all began in the year 2006, their first winner was a horse named REGINALD a three year-old chestnut gelding with heavy traces of Ireland in his blood being by Wiganthorpe (IRE) out of an Irish mare Mistress Kurri.

After having starts at Hawkesbury and then Cowra, his victory came at his third start at Bathurst on the 15th May over 1300 metres and the jockey, Christian Reith who still takes rides for our stable today.

He was the sort of horse that needed a month or so between runs, and after another four starts he wasn't able to notch up another victory for us and was transferred from the stable to continue his racing in the North Queensland district around Longreach.

The stable were able to produce another winner from their 13 runners for that season, CAPTAIN RIDLEY, also a three year-old chestnut gelding, owned by the Singletons and was the first of many to carry the family silks, red tartan, red diamond, sleeves and cap.

Even more success came in season 2006/2007, doubling the previous seasons' tally including their first Provincial winner at Wyong, HONOURABLE LASS. The daughter of Honours List consistently performed well and from her 23 starts recorded 2 wins and 9 placings.

The rider on this occassion was Tracy O'Hara sister of well known and most capable jockey of today, Kathy. In total the stable had 47 runners which also accounted for 9 placegetters.

As in the previous season 2007/2008 the number of wins increased, albeit by only one, they were all individual winners namely SUPER STROP, MAJOR TRIUMPH, GOLDENGATE BRIDGE, DRAWN TO ME with HONOURABLE LASS chalking up another victory.

Interesting to note that the O'Hara sisters rode three of our five winners. All in all a pleasing result, our 35 runners producing 5 wins and 10 placings.

The word double comes to the fore in season 2008/2009, yet again wins on the board doubled (10) the first time in double figures. The number of starters (95) more than doubled the previous seasons tally. Double also applies to jockeys Kathy O'Hara and Lachlan Fyfe riding two winners each for the stable.

GOLDENGATE BRIDGE gave us our first Metropolitan win and along with MAXIMUS FORTIUS recorded three wins each, yet another "double" statistic.

The next three seasons saw the number of winners drop to 2, 5 and 5 respectively with an average of 25% of runners being placegetters over that period.

During these years stable stalwarts, PLATINUM JACK, CRUELLA DE VIL, DARK BROWN SUGAR and ROLLIN'ONTHERIVER were beginning their racing careers.

We also took an opportunity to take stock of our current situation - procedures, horses under our care and revisit our goals and amend them if necessary.

Season 2012/2013 saw a massive turn around for the stable. An increase in the quantity of horses saw the number of runs increase to 115, from those we had 15 wins and 23 placings and over $300,000 in prizemoney.

In New South Wales the team produced two metropolitan, five provincial and six country winners as well as a winner in Canberra and another in Melbourne.

Michael Travers and Kathy O'Hara took the riding honours for this season with 4 and 2 wins respectively.

It was grand to be back training winners, especially for our clients and as usual we sincerely appreciated their support during the quieter times. This season would be the catalyst for our successes in the upcoming seasons.

Following last season's fine performance, Singleton Racing Stables were able to build on that and in 2013/2014 our statistics improved yet again.

We recorded 23 wins and 51 placings from 247 runs, in doing so amassed nearly half a million dollars in prizemoney.

Our home track, Hawkesbury was the venue for 6 wins with the Central West region tracks at Bathurst and Orange providing 3 wins each.

We even ventured to Queensland and notched up a win there with the well-travelled stayer PLATINUM JACK.

Irishman Padraig Beggy, Jessica Taylor and Englishman Kevin May were our most successful jockeys.

As for the horse performances, there were multiple wins for CRUELLA DE VIL, ABBALAC, ROLLIN'ONTHERIVER, GLAMOUR ROCK, DUBAWI DREAM and BRODIES.

The current season, 2014/2015 ,again sees us achieving better figures pro rata than the previous one.

Our team are travelling further afield chasing wins and we are reaping the rewards recording wins at Port Macquarie, Taree and even as far away as Tamworth, it is worth noting that the float rarely arrives home from these locations without a winner on board.

Jockey Kevin May is the standout so far this season riding 14 winners for us, SHALMANESER has the most wins (4). The prizemoney earned by our horses exceeds $515,000 thus far with still a month and a half remaining until season end.

Our 100th winner came at Hawkesbury on 7th June 2015 when VANISHKA first-up from a spell, was victorious.

The three year-old filly was ridden a treat by apprentice jockey Jessica Taylor and won by the barest of margins making it 29 wins to date for this season and nearly $550,000 in prizemoney.

We are already on the way to century number two with SMOOTH ELEMENT winning two races later... it was indeed a great day one we will always remember.

We'll continue to put horses in our care first, keeping our dedication level high and applying that extra effort in order to get the results we expect.

Sincere thanks to all of our staff and to our many clients, we treasure your choice of trainer and really look forward to continuing the successful association we have with you all.
