There was nothing not to like about the performance of three-year-old filly CELTIC DIAMOND at Gosford yesterday 29th October for both patrons at The Entertainment Grounds racecourse and Sky Channel viewers, it was sparkling to be sure.

The brown filly by Tickets out of the mare Misa Eire, which is also owned by Paul Smith, Seamus Smith and Ben Bartlett, gave nothing else a chance in the race in pursuit of victory.

CELTIC DIAMOND had indicated that "the mile" would suit her down to the ground and that was the case.

Scott chose to run her over the distance again, declaring Christian Reith, who is forming a formidable association with our horses, as her jockey.

A nice barrier with a slight give in the ground and a tweak of gear - noseroll off, set the scene.

After the jump, CELTIC DIAMOND ($12.00) was in a handy position on the pace, Christian realising no other rider wanted to take up the role of pacemaker urged his mount forward without too much effort to lead ... definately a winning move.

Once being settled into a suited tempo and being rated perfectly by her rider, CELTIC DIAMOND was travelling very comfortably out in front.

Approaching the home turn Christian gave his horse a dig up catching the rest of the field a bit unawares and they found a couple of lengths on entering the straight.

More urgings, a change of grip on the reins and a few brushes of the whip helped maintain the momentum and CELTIC DIAMOND was able to stave off the opposition.

Although the Gerald Ryan-trained well bred Black Canary flashed home late but the post loomed too soon ... the winner CELTIC DIAMOND by half a length in the times of 1:39.12 (600m 36.77).

Yes, another great ride from Christian Reith ...Congratulations.

How good is this ? Another winner for a bunch of great blokes that have given uslong-term support ... thank you.

It was also gratifying to maintain the winning record for the females of the family.

Times like this certainly put a twinkle in your eye ... like a diamond in the sky.
